"Shoreline Plantings for Central New York Lakes"

Angela Weiler is a Master Gardener Volunteer and a member of ‘Habitat Gardening of Central New York’ (the local chapter of ‘Wild Ones’). Her presentation will address the long, sloping lawns reaching from lakefront homes and cottages down to the shoreline that contribute to the deterioration of water quality and the growth of algae and aquatic weeds. Find out how the right shoreline plantings can help mitigate pollution, erosion, and aquatic weed growth.

"Origins Café and Greenhouse” Field Trip

We will carpool to Cooperstown for a relaxing lunch at Origins Café, set inside one of their beautiful greenhouses. The café’s menu is sourced from locally grown organic foods from local farms and their own gardens. Following lunch, we will have a guided tour of the greenhouses and gardens. Reservations will be required.

“Ikebana Flower Arranging”

Lynne Logan, a Master Gardener Volunteer, will give a presentation and demonstration of ikebana, the art of Japanese flower arranging. Lynne will discuss the history of ikebana, two types of arrangements and share many examples of traditional and contemporary ikebana.
